Hello! I'm new here but I would really recommend Rainbow Rowell (especially ESPECIALLY: "Attachments" and "Eleanor & Park")

Hi Penny,

Thanks for the book recommendations, and although not known necessarily for writing romantic comedies, I really enjoyed Curtis Sittenfeld's recent book Romantic Comedy. Eligible was great too.

Incidentally, I came across your podcast and Substack via @LucyWerner who recently held a workshop with the London Writers' Salon. I am always looking for book/writing related podcasts, so I am now a subscriber.

Dear Penny, I just really liked ps. Come to Italy by UK/NZ/Italian author Nicky Pellegrino and The Burnout by Sophie Kinsella and Mrs Winterbottom takes a Gap Year by by Joanna Nell. All generous, fun, lovely reads or listens. Xxx Laura

Oh this is great. I know what you mean about reaching for a good, easy to get into page turner but I normally turn to Ann Cleeves & Val McDiarmiud and Elly Griffiths for the locations as much as the writing & the crime solving but I need something more positive & nourishing right now. I’Il check these out. Thank you!

What a super list, I just loved Thank You For Listening. And based on these I must INSIST that you read You, Again by Kate Goldbeck and You With A View by Jessica Joyce. I think you'd love them both.
